Pisces full moon
The moon is full in Pisces, but Jupiter (Pisces ruler) is retrograded and in fall in Capricorn. Jupiter’s retrograde has flavored the year with spontaneous restrictions and general killjoys. Normally, Jupiter is expansive and limitless, known to us as the Great Benefic, bearing gifts and all kinds of novelties to quench our appetites. Pisces is co-ruled by Neptune and Jupiter, and with a sad Jupiter this full moon may lack the openness and permissiveness generally attributed to Pisces. In fact, everything may feel like it’s right on top of our skin— burning like the world is more real than its ever felt. The ubiquitous and dissolved quality of Pisces is casting forth the severity of the unknown and how the unknown is always tucked away within us. The full moon beckons us to accept it as the unseen but felt part of our present reality. This dimension of Pisces also reveals that there is an inherent practicality to dreaming. If we listen to the stories unfolding in our subconscious dreamscape, we may become more attuned to our patterns in a waking state. The more familiar we become with our patterns, the better we can serve ourselves and others in the mission of total liberation. Our last new moon entered Leo, which is the sign that represents our collective heart center. In this fulfillment of group consciousness, the seeds of the Leo new moon are reaching a moment of maturation. The harvest of the full moon teaches us that the heart’s greatest quest cannot be fulfilled unless the heart is fully integrated with the subconscious. Our needs can only be understood and met if we inquire into our lived and inherited trauma. This shadowy part of Pisces is asking us to examine what is buried in our personal underground and if we can reach for it and love it.
